The importance of a Healthy Relationship with yourself.

Do you think you have a good relationship with yourself? 

Did you know that the most important relationship you will ever have, is the one you have with yourself.

This relationship alone sets the level and expectations for all future relationships both romantic and friendships. If you have a Healthy Relationship with yourself, you dont allow others to walk over you, or not actively listen to you, and they won't take you for granted as you will not allow this to happen. Setting boundaries with friends and family is key, let them know when they have crossed a boundary and always keep an open positive line of communication. Learn to say "NO" to friends and family without feeling guilty or that you are letting them down... Remember, how they react or respond is a reflection of who they are, not who you are!

Valuing yourself and your time is one of the most important things in having a Healthy Relationship with yourself.

In the Spiritual world those who are able to be completely happy within themselves are those who have a High Vibration, as they have an open heart and choose love over fear, Their auras are strong and a beautiful colour as they radiate love and empathy, people are drawn to their energy. They are in touch with their intuition and connected to the Universe.

 

I dont believe it was until my late 20's that i established a healthy relationship with myself and enjoyed my own company.. i would take myself to the movies and go out for coffee on my own and i still do, I'm not going to lie.. I love it!! I LOVE me time! sometimes its not until you have such little time to yourself that you realise how much you enjoy it..

 

A Healthy Relationship with yourself begins when you are able to let go of fear and judgement..

while you are still being ruled by your ego you are unable to have a healthy relationship with yourself.

Do you even know what makes you happy anymore? Or what hobby you would find enjoyable?

Personally, I have to make time for "Me Time" and often its when the children are in bed and i read my book, or decide to do a meditation, sometimes ill go for a walk with my headphones on as music is very healing, or if I'm able to i go to a Kundalini Yoga Class. This is my Zen and how i unwind if things are starting to become overwhelming or if I'm simply feeling disconnected from myself. The important thing is to find something that makes your heart happy and your soul sing.. This is how you establish a Healthy Relationship with yourself.

 

Often in life we may put others needs and happiness above our own and lets face it as a parent that is somewhat expected... but certainly not to loose who we are or loose our self identity.. this is what i believe a lot of my clients struggle with as mums.. they feel there lives have completely changed and they aren't sure of how to adjust or go bak to how they were.. We can't go back, but we can adjust our mindset and our expectations.. think of yourself as a priority, as you are!! Arrange to have some "Me time" at least 3-4 times a week even if its only 30min.. By valuing who you are and valuing your time you 

value yourself.. Knowing your Self Worth and regarding yourself in a Positive way is a way of honouring yourself... when we honour ourselves, we have a Happy Relationship with ourselves.
